Arizona Golf Vacation

July 18, 2016 Stephen Garrison

Arizona has become a magnet for Canadian travelers. In 2016, Arizona is expected to welcome around 1 million travelers from our neighbor up north, staying an average of 22 days! It's no wonder why Arizona has become a hotspot for Canadian travel being that we enjoy around 330 days a year of sunshine!

There is a decision that all traveling golfers have to make and that's what to do about golf clubs on their trip. Some people decide to ship or fly with their clubs, then some decide to rent from the golf course. Both of these options have major downsides including cost. Shipping and flying the clubs will cost in excess of $100 and renting from the courses will cost an average of $65 a round! We've also had customers frantically calling us that their luggage or shipment of golf clubs were lost or didn't make it so we were happy to deliver a set of our rental clubs to them right away. Renting golf clubs from Traveling Caddy rather than the golf course saved them half the money for much higher quality clubs!

An Arizona golf vacation has its perks year round. October- April offers perfect weather that also brings amazing events all over the valley including spring training, Barrett Jackson, and the Waste Management Open. May- September brings rates of hotels and golf courses discounted around 70%! My golf buddies and I enjoy some of the warm months the most with the cheap rates and the ability to play fast rounds up until 7:30 pm.

Arizona golf courses offer a unique brand of golf only found here in AZ. Many Canadian golfers that I talk to come to Arizona to get a different feel than the tall pines and willows that they find in many provinces in Canada. When someone asks me for advice on where to play a unique Arizona desert course, there are countless options, but here are a few recommendations: Greyhawk, Troon North, Wei Ko Pa, and Boulders. If you want to step one level lower on price I would recommend : Kierland, Phoenician, Eagle Mountain, or Talking Stick. We have a more extensive list of the best Arizona golf courses at www.travelingcaddy.com.
